My Story

I originally was interested in Mindfulness as a  way to manage my stress levels as a busy Head of School Senior Leader in a inner city Secondary school in Cardiff. I had been teaching for 25 years and had suffered from long-term chronic stress , anxiety and burnout and was off for a period of time to regain my health and wellbeing.  Taking an 8 week Mindfulness course  was one of the ways I found my way back to good mental health. I wanted to teach it to the students in  the school where I was working at that time to help them  learn skills to reduce stress and anxiety and so I trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project and at the University of Bangor to gain the proper qualifications to be a Mindfulness Teacher.

After a few years of  implementing a whole school approach to Mindfulness in the school I decided to leave my job in teaching and focus my energy on teaching  Mindfulness courses to the wider community , schools , workplace settings, and local communities as a freelance trainer. I went back to University and studied  part -time at the  University of Exeter, for an  MSc in Psychological Research and Practice - Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.  I was delighted to gain my award in 2020!

Over the last 10 years I have taught several 8-week Mindfulness-Based courses to staff in schools and adults in the community. I have also delivered Mindfulness and Wellbeing workshops and presentations to hundreds of staff in schools, managers and employees in workplace settings, headteachers and adults in local community settings, and have taught children in primary schools and young people in secondary schools. Feedback from the people I have worked with over the years has been excellent.

I am now based in Scotland  and I continue to work online and face to face teaching Mindfulness and Wellbeing courses and workshops.
