My Story
I was a Secondary School teacher in Scotland, and then moved to Cardiff as a Senior Leader in a busy inner city school. After teaching for 25 years, I suffered from long-term chronic stress, anxiety and burnout and was off for a period of time to regain my health and wellbeing. As part of my route back to health, I took an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course. I was so impressed with the impact on my mental wellbeing that I decided to start to train to become a Mindfulness teacher. I trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project initially to teach children and young people in the classroom Mindfulness lessons.

After a few years of implementing a whole school approach to Mindfulness in the school where I worked, I decided to leave my job in teaching and focus my energy on teaching Mindfulness courses to the wider community, schools, workplace settings, and local communities as a freelance trainer.
I went back to University and studied part -time at the University of Exeter. I gained an MSc in Psychological Research and Practice - Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy in 2020!
Since 2015, when I left teaching, I have taught hundreds of 8-week Mindfulness-Based courses to staff in schools and adults in the community.
I have also delivered Mindfulness and Wellbeing workshops and presentations to hundreds of staff in schools, managers and employees in workplace settings, and adults in local community settings. I have taught children in primary schools and young people in secondary schools.

I moved back to my hometown of Bearsden, just outside Glasgow, in 2021.
This year, 2026, I have recently completed a qualification as a Breathwork Coach and look forward to offering Breathwork group classes online and locally in the community

My hobbies include dancing Argentine Tango, modern jive, Tai chi, Pilates, yoga, walking, healthy cooking, family time and meditation.
